I love tea and today I will talk about Jasmine tea. Since I know myself I drink tea and I prefer the Loose Leaf Tea. Since the Grand Birmingham Central opened I discovered Whittard of Chelsea, a paradise for tea lovers.
It is said that the Jasmine tea was a tea reserved for the Imperial Court, the China’s elite, where was used in elaborated ceremonies in from of the Emperor.
“We’ve sourced our signature jasmine green tea from remote tea gardens in the south of China. The leaves are harvested and processed in the spring, then kept fresh until the summer jasmine season. Once picked, the young buds of jasmine start to open at dusk; they are then layered over the tea and carefully turned to release their essential oils, a process repeated up to six times overnight with fresh batches of flowers. The result is richly fragranced yet pleasingly light – delicious enjoyed at dusk, or as an after-dinner palate cleanser.”
I love jasmine tea and also for the benefits such reducing risk of heart attacks, a stronger immune system, and the prevention of diabetes. Jasmine tea also helps prevent cancer, while reducing stress and migraines, improving digestive processes, and lowering cholesterol.
This Jasmine tea has a very pale in colour when brewed but had a lovely flowery scent. The tea itself is very refreshing and a lovely Jasmine scent that fills your mind with oriental majesty every time you take a sip
To taste, this one comes across as a very mild, light, jasmine flavoured green tea. The initial sip is a primarily a smooth, slightly buttery green. There’s a tiny bit of bite towards the end of the sip, almost verging on bitterness, but it’s actually quite pleasant in that it gives what is a very mild-tasting tea a little texture and depth because the jasmine emerges in the mid-sip, and adds a sweet, floral accord. It’s not a heavy, perfumery jasmine, and it’s by no means overpowering.
